I recently performed my first full on ambient set as part of Desert Drone - Southern AZ's monthly (or more) ambient event.

In preparing for the session, I found 3 movements to perform.

The first movement is a steady repetition of two chords with changing bass notes. This is similar to a technique Pat Metheny commonly uses. I enjoyed bringing out some high gain electric guitar with distortion for that.

The second movement is mainly synthesizer. It's the first time I ever performed on synthesizer. The chords are reminiscent of Enya.

The third and last movement took the chords and most of the rhythm from Herbie Hancock's "Tell Me A Bedtime Story." I jokingly call it "Tell Me a Halftime Story," because I play the music very slowly compared to the Herbie song I took the structure from.
